Youssef Ibrahim, at the New York Sun, complains about the president's loud silence in the face of dozens of Egyptian churches burning. The Muslim Brotherhood targeted 52 churches in the last 48 hours.
Meanwhile, the president was playing golf while the churches burned.
In contrast, the Coptic church, according to one news source, denounced the violence while complaining of the "false broadcasts by Western media." The church (the largest in Egypt) issued its deep concern with the US and European nations:
"who almost daily issue statements threatening to take further actions against our interim government and army, portraying the Muslim Brotherhood as victims while not even mentioning the destruction of over 80 churches, as well monasteries, orphanages, businesses and Coptic schools by the Muslim Brotherhood.”
The president is silent thus far even as Coptic Christians in Nashville rallied Monday, according to USA Today, chanting:
Obama, Obama don't you care? Christian blood is everywhere.
Perhaps the president would use the power of his pulpit if the Muslim Brotherhood were burning abortion clinics.
Proverbs 24:11-12 sums up his duty well:
"Deliver those who are drawn toward death, and hold back those stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, 'Surely we did not know this,' does not He who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, does He not know it? And will He not render to each man according to his deeds?"
