Show trial: a trial (as of political opponents) in which the verdict is rigged and a public confession is often extracted -- Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary
President Obama was presented with another opportunity to rule out political retribution dressed up as investigations of the looney left-wing's fanciful allegations of Bush administration war-crimes.
Instead of standing by his previous obfuscation that "we need to look forward as opposed to looking backwards," Obama gave a green light to Attorney General Holder to start the show trials -- a political theater relic of Joseph Stalin's Great Purge of political opponents from the former Soviet Union.
Watch the following CBS video report:
Obama has been planning this for a long time. In a December 2007 KJFK radio interview with Christiane Brown, Obama promised that one of his first acts as president would be to call on his new Attorney General to investigate the Bush administration.
(Cross talk)
BROWN: But, but Senator Obama forgive me…
OBAMA: Let, let me finish…and during that process of review, if it’s determined that laws have been broken, then obviously accountability would be part of my Attorney General’s job.

Comments
This is just a diversion to what is going on (what Obama is doing) in our country and to appease the left.
If these mostly career lawyers and others who wrote opinions saying their research allowed this in particular cases, and OTHERS in the very same office came to the opposite conclusion, that ANY should face very serious criminal charges? That would ruin their and their families lives? ONLY because they came to a conclusion that reasonable minds can differ on?
What does THAT do to those still in those positions. Still tasked to keep us safe? Those with families who may be called on to make those SAME type of decisions?
Can they now make what at the time will be a reasonable decision without thinking what may happen in the future if they make a wrong decision? Think about it.
If you believe some of these techniques are torture, fine. Were some of them ok to you? Or did they NOT release all but the worst. Or WERE they the worst?
If the administration wants to stop using them, fine. Stop using them.
No person made a decision alone in this. Some were against some were for. DO NOT put such a chill in this decision making when reasonable minds can disagree.
Oh, remember this?

STEPHANOPOULOS: What about those who devised policy?
EMANUEL: Yes, but those who devised policy, he believes that they were -- should not be prosecuted either, and that's not the place that we go -- as he said in that letter, and I would really recommend people look at the full statement -- not the letter, the statement -- in that second paragraph, "this is not a time for retribution." It's time for reflection. It's not a time to use our energy and our time in looking back and any sense of anger and retribution.
We have a lot to do to protect America. What people need to know, this practice and technique, we don't use anymore. He banned it.
STEPHANOPOULOS: Rahm Emanuel, thank you very much for joining me.
EMANUEL: Thank you, George.
What changed? Hope?
