Obama fires anti-gay Louie Giglio

This morning, it was announced that Obama is no longer having an anti-gay Pastor Louie Giglio give the inauguration prayer. Giglio’s selection angered members of the LGBT community after it came to light that in the 1990s, he preached that gay people were going to Hell, that the LGBT was a dangerous movement, and that homosexuality could be cured by prayer. That was just the icing.

"I was honored to be invited by the President to give the benediction at the upcoming inaugural on January 21. Though the President and I do not agree on every issue, we have fashioned a friendship around common goals and ideals, most notably, ending slavery in all its forms," Giglio said today. He didn't offer any hint of an apology.

Some people have said that Giglio should be forgiven given that homophobia was a lot more rampant in the 1990s. That's almost like saying that we should forgive the Klu Klux Klan because racism was more rampant in the 1950s.
