Tongues are wagging at the White House as the Obama family welcomed a new puppy named Sunny. This furry creature joins the First Family and is their second Portuguese Water Dog, according to USA Today on Aug. 20. This new pooch was born in Michigan last year. She joins her big brother Bo, who is also of the same breed.
Sunny is said to have loads of energy and is very affectionate as seen in the official video of the two dogs having fun on the White House lawn. The newest member of the family looks to be all black, while Bo has white on his legs. The first dog has been with the Obama’s since 2009 and has enjoyed all kinds of publicity since then. He will now have to share the spotlight with his new little sister, but he probably won’t seem to mind too much.
Sunny will be sure to keep him young and happy with having a companion to hang out with when the family is away or taking care of business. Sunny was named for her seemingly joyful disposition.
The official White House Blog said that the Obama’s will be making a donation to the Washington Humane Society in honor of Sunny’s arrival.
This is a great idea for any family to do when they get a new pet, by making some kind of donation to your local Human Society or animal shelter.
Those two balls of fluff will be sure to bring plenty of happiness and fun to the Obama family.
