President Obama's fainting woman catch during his Obamacare remarks Monday is a video that has gone viral in the blink of an eye. Now Karmel Allison, the woman who was the recipient of the big catch, has quickly become an Internet sensation. Piers Morgan spoke with Allison about the incident, and Mediaite shared the interview on Oct. 21.
The incident happened as President Obama was speaking about the Affordable Care Act. Karmel Allison, who is pregnant and has type-1 diabetes, started swaying behind him. President Obama happened to turn and realize she was seemingly on the verge of fainting, and he reached out to steady her and wrap his arm around her back.
Allison says that Obama spoke with her a bit after the near-fainting spell to check and see if she was okay. She explains she was there at the speech because she had written a blog post about the ACA and how she stands to benefit from it, and she explained a bit more in her interview with Piers Morgan. Despite what could be considered a very embarrassing moment, Karmel Allison seems to have a good sense of humor about being the face behind the story of Obama's fainting woman catch.
