Back when I wrote "Vera Baker, Barack and Michelle Obama? New book claims Vera Baker was sent away by Michelle" -- that was the first time I'd ever heard the name Vera Baker, and the accusations in the book called Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage by Christopher Andersen about any possible affair with Barack Obama.
But now the National Enquirer's Obama Cheating Scandal piece has heated up the topic once again -- and sent folks scurrying for info and pics of Vera Baker, like this one that has been floating around the web, whom
some claim is the self-same Vera Baker.
The below photo, however, from The Globe cover, looks different from the photo of Vera Baker holding a drink whom some claim i
s the woman in question.
The fact that the National Enquirer has broken several important cheating scandals of adulterous affairs lately lends more credence to the whisperings of dailences with the 35-year-old Baker.
Excerpts from the book allegeding more that just good old clean campaigning tell a nefarious tale:
There were, in fact, rumors afoot that it was more than just the random flirting from strangers that was getting to Michelle.
Her husband, it would later be reported, had grown close to an attractive young African American member of his campaign named vera Baker.
Born and raised in San Francisco, Baker attended tony Mills College for Women, where she received dual bachelor's degrees in political, legal, and economic analysis and African American studies.
She later earned her master's in political science from Howard University and her master's in African American studies from Columbia.
In 2000 Baker teamed up with another Howard alum, Muthoni Wambu, to start Baker Wambu & Associates, a firm that would go on to raise over three million dollars for the congressional campaigns of African American candidates.
While Wambu would later become an adviser to Delaware Senator Joe Biden, Baker allied herself with Barack's Senate campaign.
According to Federal Election Commission records, Baker was paid a hefty fee for her services as Finance Director for the Obama Senate campaign. But in fact, Clair Serdiuk was officially and repeatedly referred to as Obama's Finance Directors throughtout the campaign.
When Baker suddenly and inexplicably vanished from the campaign and resurfaced on the Caribbean island of Martinique, tongues reportedly began wagging.
A jealous Michelle, it was suggested, had engineered Baker's departure.
"No," Baker would later insist. "Nothing happened. I just left...at the end of the campaign." If Michelle had complained that she and Barack were getting too cozy, Baker wasn't saying. "I have no comment on anything," she told writer Sharon Churcher.
"I switched careers. That's it. I'm a Democrat and I support Senator Obama. I don't have anything to say." Baker did add, however, that is was love that had brought her to the Caribbean in the first place -- she moved there, she said, to live with the man she had fallen in love with.
(In a strange twist, Baker later went to work for Alta Capital Group, a municipal bond brokerage founded by Michelle's longtime friend Adela Cepeda.)
In the meantime, the blogosphere has been murmering about Vera Baker and her work for Obama for years -- like this post called "Obama, Adultery you can believe in," which contains a curious garbled-faced photo and more rumors about the Baker connection.
Only if some of these news outlets produce actual surveillance video or folks (like the alleged limo driver the National Enquirer writes of) willing to go on record about what they witnessed, this story will go nowhere.
However, if it is time for any dirty deeds done dirt cheap to be shouted from the rooftops, then we might be looking at a Clinton-type scandal.
Time will tell the tale...

Personally, I think this is bull. Consider where these allegations came from - the Globe and the Enquirer. Not exactly what I would call bulwarks of solid, accurate journalism. Don't get me wrong, I dislike Obama as much as the next conservative, but they're called "tabloids" for a reason.

Must be some VERY jealous witches, cause Michelle is the farthest thing from masculine...she is a fit, athletic very feminine female...and I trust she would say that she sent this girl packing if in deed she did...and so would the girl...obviously. There'd be a ton of money in it for her...look at Raelle (spelling?) Hunter and John Edwards. HA! Nope, sorry, you rags are gonna have to find a much better thing to try to nail on PRESIDENT Obama...this story is going nowhere fast - for good reason...its false!

Love the way people defend a "cheater" Same way the Dems tried to cover up Clinton's escapade with Monica. If it is true, let the facts come out. It's why we have journalists, isn't it. Get the facts and report on it. Not make it up or slant it the way most main street news medias are doing

Tabloids...yes. But wasn't it the Enquirer that exposed the truth about Edward's affair. If Obama did have an affair, it should be exposed, along with all his other misdeeds.
