The McCain campaign needs to spin the Ayers
connection much better.
It doesn't matter when Obama met up with Ayers, or how many meetings they ever had.
It's about the fact that Ayers went from domestic terrorist to "respected community
leader", to the point where Ayers was throwing well attended fundraisers for Obama, and they sat on boards
together.
Bill Ayers should never have acheived such respectable positions in the first place.
Bill Ayers should be sitting in jail, not on boards!
But that's how the 1960s Left's reputation-laundering works. Look at Angela Davis, and
the convicted felon and torturer who invented (the Marxist inspired "holiday") Kwanzaa and, like Davis, is now a tenured
prof.
On the morning of September 11, 2001, Ayers was quoted in the New York Times as saying he and his wife only regretted
that they hadn't blown up more buildings. People were reminded that Ayers wife praised the Manson family murders.
That
story was widely remarked upon for incredibly obvious reasons.
That story alone would make any decent, intelligent person say afterward: "Wow, I better not be seen anywhere
near this guy, let alone sit on a board with him or go to his frickin' house. Boy, would THAT ever look bad."
So that means Obama isn't a decent, intelligent person. Period.
He's just another craven, arrogant, Chicago style politician.

Ayers and his wife are dangerous criminals and traitors who got away with it, and are now well off and
respected. At least the Rosenbergs got the chair...

What does it tell you about Obama and his policies and his worldview that people like Ayers and his
ilk are obviously going to vote for the guy?
Do you really want to vote for the same guy that unrepentant, unpunished domestic terrorists vote for?

The republicans fought over and over for more regulation and oversight, but Andrew Mozillo, Countrywide/ Raines & Johnson of Fannie Mae along with their Counterparts and reciepients of the largest campaign contributions who are supposed to work for you the people not Fannie Mae, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, in fact all the Democratic Memebers of Congress voted against it. So Fannie sells these worthless mortgages to the Stock market and now we have a Crisis. The bad loans that should not have been made are being forclosed on and those foreclosures have now driven down the value of your property. Who wins Jim Johnson/Franklin Raines who made millions from Fannie Mae & The recipients of campaign contribushions , Dodd , Obama, Frank, Angelo Mozilo owner of Countrywide who did his bailout by selling his stock before things really got bad THEY SHOULD ALL BE IN PRISON. Who are the losers, You the American Taxpayer who has to pay for the Bailout that the Dems not only rushed to push through, (Jeez they wanted to help a Lame Duck Republican President) .We can blame it on Wall Street Greed like any one who buys an investment they bought it in droves because they were led to believe it was sound and insured . And now your Retirement Fund your 401K is not worth S***, So when you open your earnings report and go to vote in Nov. remember who got you into this mess.
Kathy, I would suggest that the reason that the connection between Senator Obama and William Ayers seems “tenuous” may be because it is just that: tenuous.
I hold no brief for either Mr. Ayers or Senator McCain’s supporter, John Hagee, who is also not a very nice fellow.
However I do not assume that either candidate is in agreement with their politics and opinions.
Both Senator Obama and McCain are honorable, patriotic, decent men. We can and will disagree as to their respective approaches to the problems facing the country but I feel that the McCain forces deciding to attack Senator Obama’s decency is a sign of desperation and totally out of character with the John McCain we all knew.

A candidate should be judged based on who it is who will be voting for him or her? You can't be serious. Out of the millions of people who will vote for Obama you take one person whom you assume will vote for him and say that since this person may vote for him and he has this odd world view, no one should vote for Obama? In the legal profession, we call this "opening the door." Think about it. Take a look at the McCain/Palin voter pool and then get back to me.
Just because Obama had some loose community associations with Ayers does not make Obama the "pal" of a terrorist. To say it does is patently irresponsible, untrue, and, frankly, desperate. Intelligent undecideds want to hear a cogent debate on the issues. They do not want to see how the McCain campaign can "spin" (your words) Obama's past to make it appear as if Obama is lacking in character. These are tired attacks.
Additionally, intellectuals actually enjoy exposure to world views with which they might disagree. Ayers is now a respected professor at a prestigious institution. He has associations with lots of people, I'd imagine, even (gasp!) Republicans! And I'd be willing to bet that some of his personal associations with those people are a lot stronger than what he has with Obama. Just a thought from an INDEPENDENT voter.
Obama hates America just as Ayers does. He is NOT patriotic. He does not say he wants to change Washington. He DOES say he "wants to change America."

Why doesn't anyone ask Obama about Rezco a notorious slumlord and one of his his top Campaign contributors the person who's wife purchased the land next to Obamas home in Chicago a purchase that allowed Obama to acquire the VERY NICE HOUSE house he now owns. I'm interested in precise language. I note the debate over what to call Ayers. Terrorist? Unrepentant terrorist?
Legally, he is most simply described as a murderer. Is this not so? Please write a column detailing how many murders. Is it 2, is it 5, or what? And distinguish between murders he did with his own hands and those where he directed others to murder.
He is also guilty of many counts of attempted murder.
I believe he has confessed all of this. But the country needs a fact sheet.
