While the nation is focused on the government shutdown and the fight over Obamacare, a report released on Thursday by the Clarion Project states that U.S. taxpayers will be supporting the spread of radical Islam, namely, the Muslim Brotherhood in Turkey and Qatar.
The Project stated that millions of taxpayer dollars will be spent promoting the Muslim Brotherhood brand of Islamism to counter the Al-Qaeda brand of Islamism, essentially trading one terror group for another.
Ryan Mauro of the Clarion Project said, “The U.S. and the Islamist government of Turkey have announced a $200 million fund for programs that will supposedly promote non-violence among Muslims in terrorist hotspots like Pakistan, Somalia and Yemen to try to influence Muslim youth in a more positive direction.”
The State Department announced the program on September 27, 2013, called “Creating a Global Fund for Community Engagement and Resilience”.
The purpose stated that it is a core group of government and non-government partners from different regions are planning to establish the first-ever public-private global fund to support local, grass-roots efforts to counter violent extremism in all of its forms and manifestations.
In a long stretch of involvement in the Middle East by the Obama administration, it appears that once again that the U.S. State Department and the Obama administration are injecting itself into a situation that it cannot sustain in the long term, not to mention, the dissatisfaction of Middle Eastern citizens.
A stinging rebuke of President Obama and his interference with Egypt and the Middle East where Egyptians, Coptic-Christians have had enough of Obama’s involvement of internal affairs of Muslim nations, was penned last month by Egyptian blogger, Eman Nabih.
Nabih said, “You know prostitution and immorality, is not just about pornography, the real prostitution and immorality, is the U.S. policy and practices not just towards the Middle East, but against the whole humanity.”
“Where were you when Muslim Brother terrorists Group were practicing Oppression, terror and murders against Journalists, judges, media, press, Christians, Military, police and moderate Muslims individuals from the first minute they reached power in Egypt! You were there Obama, it’s just all the Brotherhood crimes and oppression practices against Egyptians, suited you then!”
Mauro said the U.S. should instead look to Muslim leaders like Jordanian King Abdullah II, an adversary of the Muslim Brotherhood and not supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood brand of Islam, like Turkey and Qatar.
Nevertheless, is anyone listening? Mauro says no.
“If you believe that the Brotherhood’s Political Islam is the solution to Al-Qaeda’s Political Islam, as does the Obama administration, then your natural ideological allies would be Turkey and Qatar,“ Mauro said.
“Unfortunately, America’s strategy will either create “more” Al-Qaeda recruits by expanding the overall Islamist following, or, if it works as intended, will hurt Al-Qaeda but strengthen the other Islamist movements,” said Mauro.
“No wonder Muslim Brotherhood’s supporters are happy about it.”
