Obama administration ‘not competent’ says new poll

A new Quinnipiac poll released today reveals that President Barack Obama is getting low ratings from voters on a number of issues, and that 53 percent believe his administration is “not competent” at running the government, and only one percent think gun issues should be a priority for the president and Congress this year.

Far more important than gun control are the health care, jobs and unemployment, and the economy, the poll revealed.

This comes barely 48 hours after World Net Daily (WND) reported that liberal and libertarian icon Nat Hentoff reportedly suggested that the president should be impeached. And yesterday, CBS News reported that the Justice Department’s Inspector General is now looking for a mysterious “third gun” that may have been involved in the shootout that resulted in the death of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry in December 2010, the event that led to the Operation Fast and Furious scandal.

It is shaping up as a bad week for the president, and it is only Wednesday.

Town Hall headlined its coverage of the Quinnipiac survey results this way: “Majority believe Obama’s White House is incompetent.”

The survey revealed that 49 percent of the respondents do not believe he is honest or trustworthy while 46 percent think he is. Fifty-six percent think he has not handled the economy very well, and 59 percent dislike his handling of health care.

Hentoff, a prolific writer for more than 50 years, reportedly told WND that Obama “gets away with” playing the imperial president – doing things by executive order and bypassing Congress – “only because there is no outrage in Congress, no coverage by the media and no knowledge by the public.” Hentoff has not been a fan of Obama's.

“In fact, Hentoff said,” according to WND, “Obama doesn’t even pretend to care about the separation of powers between the executive branch and Congress anymore, because ‘He’s the boss and hardly anybody cares enough’ to stop him.”

In the CBS update on Fast and Furious developments, it appears investigators are questioning Border Patrol personnel this week in Arizona to determine if there was a third rifle recovered at the Terry crime scene, and what happened to it.
