Oakland trades Carson Palmer to Arizona Cardinals

It looks like Carson Palmer is going to the desert after all. The Oakland Raiders decided to trade Palmer to the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday late afternoon.

Yahoo Sports reported that Palmer was traded for a conditional seventh-round 2014 draft pick and swapped the second of their two sixth-round picks this year's NFL Draft for Oakland's seventh-round selection.

Palmer also agreed with the Cardinals to a two-year deal that will pay him $20 million, with a cool $10 million guaranteed.

Carson told the press that he was gunning for the Cardinals ever since he realized that the Raiders where rebuilding with youth.

The 33-year-old quarterback stated on Yahoo News that he had his agent working on the deal as soon as the Raiders started leaning toward younger QBs.

Palmer was also very excited about coming to the Arizona organization for the reason that the Cardinals have a new coach and that they are out to win it now. Instead, the Raiders are going through a rebuilding process which Palmer had not time for.

Even though his stint with the Raiders was short, Palmer did manage to become the second QB in Oakland’s history to throw over 4,000 yards in a single season.
