Who will win tonight’s Monday Night Football match, the Oakland Raiders or the Denver Broncos? Most speculate that the Broncos have the upper hand due to the high scoring offense the Broncos have with Peyton Manning at the helm; however, the Raiders are up for the challenge.
The Oakland Raiders official web page reported on Sunday that the Raiders are up for the tough challenge the Broncos will bring for Monday night’s game.
General Manager Reggie McKenzie stated that the Raiders are “going to compete,” and added, “We’re not going to lay down and say, ‘OK Peyton, here, have it.’”
Defensive Coordinator Jason Tarver welcomes the Broncos’ challenge. The challenge is Peyton Manning’s ability to burn teams with his passing, especially this season when he got seven touchdowns in week one.
Tarver mentioned in the article that the Oakland Raiders need to beat the best in order to be the best. Jason Tarver added that there is nothing better than doing what people think you can’t do.
The Denver Broncos have the upper hand for Monday Night Football games. The all-time record is 8-7-1, which comes out to be almost even.
On the other hand, the all-time record for regular season matches including Monday Night Football games belongs to the Raiders. The Raiders lead with a 59-44-2 record.
The Denver Broncos are 15 points favorites for Monday night’s match at the Mile High Stadium with the over/under 49.5 points.
This AFC West battle is going to be exciting this Monday night. The Oakland Raiders feel confident and that’s good enough to make the game worth watching.
Remember, Peyton Manning’s left tackle got hurt earlier this week, so the Broncos have the backup playing. That might be enough to give Manning happy feet while sitting in the pocket looking to pass his covered players by the Raiders’ awesome secondary.
In the meantime, the re-vamped Raiders’ defense will be prowling for Manning and looking to hit hard! It is the only way to take down Manning.
