Should Jamarcus Russel and the Raiders part ways? Let’s be honest this has not worked out, and sometimes a players career can be saved simply by a change of scenery. Jamarcus Russell’s struggles in Oakland are not all his own making, but a positive attitude and good work ethic can take a player far. The simple fact here is the team does not believe in him, and after trying to trade fro QB Donovan McNabb it seems not even Al Davis himself still believes in this kid. |

Draft Day decision makers: Oakland Raiders To be perfectly honest this is the one I don't even want to write. I will call into question the sanity of Raiders owner Al Davis and every Raider fan out here with a first grade education will line up to call me an idiot and talk about the football genius of Al Davis. |

2009 NFL Draft one year later: Oakland Raiders If you ever wanted to know why the Oakland Raiders have gone from one of the most respected NFL Franchises, to the laughing stock that they are today, it is decisions made, like the ones made last year at the NFL draft , that have ruined this franchise. Al Davis hire a General Manger already, dude this draft looks worse a year later. They reached way past two quality wide outs, to draft a guy who caught nine passes. The price tag of that 7th overall pick, 38.25 million dollars over five years with 23.5 million guaranteed. Great Job Al. |

MTR Football's 2010 NFL Mock Draft: Oakland Raiders first round selectionThe way this draft is shaking out Raiders owner, and general manager, Al Davis doesn't have to do anything crazy. He can select the best player available, which just happens to be his team's primary need. Al prides himself on taking guys in the first round that no one else would dare take, and he is the only NFL GM to ever select a punter in the first round, but this year Al can play it safe, take McCoy and actually improve his team. |

What should the Oakland Raiders do with their first round draft pick? The Oakland Raiders are a mess, and they have the eighth pick in the 2010 NFL draft. For normal teams they would figure out their primary need, and address it with this pick. However this is a team run by Al Davis, and he serves as the General Manager, and that means he could select anyone with this pick. There could almost be no logic assigned to this. This is a guy who drafted a punter in the first round after all. |

Fix the Franchise: Oakland Raiders edition The Silver and Black, the commitment to excellence, and one of the finest NFL Franchises ever, all that is true but the NFL game has passed Al Davis by. To fix this franchise Al Davis has to give up some control, and hire a General Manger that understands today’s game. There are many Raider fans out there that seem to agree since they spent big bucks last season to buy a bill board to plead with Mr. Davis to hire a General Manager already. |

2009 NFL season in review: Oakland Raiders It is kind of hard to bag on a team that won five games, and one who is led by a former NFL legend. However it is clear that Al Davis is behind the times of the current NFL, and his record in the draft lately is highly questionable. It also seems, he is unwilling to give up on former number one overall pick QB Jamarcus Russell. Al shouldn’t take it too hard, we don’t see the San Diego Charges moping about the disaster Ryan Leaf was, but Al seems unwilling to move on, and that is hurting his football team. |

Just how dumb is Al Davis anyways? Sometimes it really amazes me how far people can self delude themselves. Sure at one time Al Davis was a football genius, sure at one time the Oakland Raiders were the model NFL Franchise, and they are still an elite franchise. However AL Davis’ time in this league is now at an end. Not because we want to see him gone, but because it is just time. Davis has just lost it, and his team suffers from poor decision making. Trust me I live in Detroit I have a PHD in poor football related decisions. This is not just bout him continuously hiring the wrong coach, but a litany of questionable calls that have set this team back for years to come. |

Raiders fans buy billboard, want Davis to hire a GM The story seems to suggest that the recession has nothing to do with sports, since a bunch of Raiders fans had enough money left over to buy a billboard in an effort to get Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis to give up the reins of his team and hire a General Manager. The Raiders are one of five NFL team’s that do not employ a General Manager. Of those teams; the Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, Washington Redskins, and of course the Raiders, only the Patriots have managed to be successful without a GM running the show |

Raiders lose, but score moral victory Lately it has been pretty easy to dismiss the Oakland Raiders as a once proud organization who had lost their way. They had a highly questionable 2009 draft, their head coach got in trouble for punching one of his assistants, and Richard Seymour didn’t want to report there after being traded from the New England Patriots. Then this team goes out on Monday night and very nearly defeats the San Diego Chargers, a team many have picked to go to the Super Bowl. |

Seymour still a no show in Oakland The New England Patriots traded DE Richard Seymour to the Oakland Raiders for a 2011 First Round draft pick, but Seymour still has failed to report to the Raiders organization. He is apparently upset over being dealt from a Super Bowl contender to the Raiders, who in recent years have become somewhat of a laughing stock. Seymour is doing more damage to his |

Raiders impress in Pre Season debut This time of year we have to preface everything said with the fact that this is merely the pre-season. With that being said the pre-season game last night between the Dallas Cowboys andthe Oakland Raiders may have taught us a few things about the 2009 NFL regular season. |

2009 Oakland Raiders Draft analysis It should not surprise anyone that the Raiders are one of only five NFL teams that do not employ a GM. The Bengals, Cowboys, Patriots, and Redskins are the others. Of these five teams we can only call one of them (Patriots) successful. |

“Just Win, Baby.” We have all heard Al Davis and his famous Tag line. We all know him to be the patriarch of the Raider nation, and in the past few years we have all seen him become a sad joke of his former self. Davis has always been a sports owner who thought outside the box, but lately his outside the box moves have been highly questionable. One has to wonder is Davis hurting is overall legacy in pro football? |
