The Oakland Raiders are trying to get Marcel Reece more involved in the game after the bye week. In the first six games, Reece did his thing but did not see much action.
The Oakland Raiders’ coaching staff admits that they check Reece’s involvement after every game so far this season. The staff also admits that Reece’s has been limited due to the scheme that the Raiders changed right before the season started.
Offensive Coordinator Greg Olson stated that the Raiders have changed to a more read-option kind of offense due to Terrelle Pryor’s style of play.
Also, the Raiders wanted to concentrate on a heavy running game with Darren McFadden leading the charge. The Raiders are having problems finding that groove still this season.
Marcel Reece also suffered a sprained knee in Week 3 against the Washington Redskins, which the Raiders lost. Due to that injury, the Raiders have been cautious with the workload given to Marcel Reece.
Offensive Coordinator Greg Olson is aware that involving Reece more could change the game for the Raiders. Hopefully, the staff is working on just that to help boost up the running scheme this bye week!
