- Jeff Garcia reportedly cut
Head Coach Tom Cable announced the list of Raiders who had been cut. This list included one of their fourth round draft choices, meaning that two players from the 2006 draft class did not make the team. However, there were two undrafted free agents who did make the team.
Cut outright: Jerome Boyd, Greyson Gunheim, Slade Norris, Marcel Reece, Morlon Greeenwood, Seth Wand, Jeff Garcia, Terdell Sands, Ryan Boschetti, Jonathan Holland, David Nixon, Chris O'Neil, Gary Russell, Justin Miller, Seth Wand, Mark Wilson, James Martin, Darrell Strong, Ricky Schmitt
Waived with injuries: Michael Hawkins Rashad Baker, John Wade

can't say i really disagree with the cuts. the o-line has a quality backup at every position. the te's are right. watkins is a good special teams guy. miller the new return man. rankin looked good. cutting garcia makes sense. he doesn't want to be a backup. and gradkowski and frye both looked good. d-line has a couple backups that looked better than the starters. brown backs up all lb spots, ekiujuba is a pro-bowler and i have to admit sam williams played very well. miller was a returner only and looked bad as a cb. bowie did look decent. i look for boyd and possible norris, nixon, or o'neill to be on the practice squad. cutting norris was a surprise but he didn't look much better than what they had.
