There is a rumor that the Oakland Raiders could trade for Houston Texan wide receiver Andre Johnson. Although this being just a rumor, it would be ideal for the Raiders to reunite Johnson with Matt Schaub again. The Raiders are also thought to be the best customer for the Texans if the rumor were to come true.
It was reported on Friday morning that the Raiders have an option to trade, as well as having the money, for wide receiver Andre Johnson. This is only a rumor that has been reported, but the Raiders could be the best buyers if the Houston Texans decided to trade Johnson.
Apparently, Johnson has been absent from team activities. He has been complaining about having a new coach on the team and just tired of losing. Johnson was very upset about last season's outcome. The Texans went from being a contender for the Super Bowl to having a horrible season.
Johnson’s attitude with his team is very bad. He has not shown up for any of the team activities and has announced that he will not be going to the mandatory workouts. Basically, he wants out. Texan teammates have been asking Johnson to come back, but, so far, nothing.
If the Houston Texans opt to trade Johnson, the Raider could jump on the opportunity to get a great receiver, one that is experienced with their current QB, Matt Schaub. The only thing is that the Oakland Raiders do not want to give away any draft picks.
The only option that the Raiders could offer is by trading quarterback Matt McGloin. This would push rookie Derek Carr to the backup role. Anyway, McGloin would be a good offer since the Texans do not have much to show for the quarterback position.
Currently, the Texans have Ryan Fitzpatrick and two rookies, Case Keenum and Tom Savage. Matt McGloin would fit in that outfit just fine and could even be a starter with the Texans if the trade were to happen.
So far, this is all a rumor, but, if the Texans decided to go that rout by trading Andre Johnson, the Oakland Raiders could be the best buyers. After all, the Raiders could sacrifice a quarterback or even offer some money as well since the Raiders still have some change left.
