Oakland linebacker Josh Smith had a nationwide audience as he made his commitment on ESPNU to the Vanderbilt Commodores tonight from the Opening, which hosts the top prospects from across the country.
Smith (6-3, 225) picked the Commodores over his other finalists which included Kentucky, Ole Miss, Penn State and Purdue.
He becomes the third Patriot to commit already joining teammates Jack Jones (offensive line) and Kyle Oliver (tight end) who both have already committed to the University of Tennessee.
