Golden State Warriors backup center Jermaine O'Neal did not fly with the team to Toronto on Saturday due to a passport issue according to a tweet Sunday by Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle.
The 35-year-old O'Neal was unable to enter customs due to the matter head coach Mark Jackson said during his pregame news conference. Jackson also told reporters he wasn't sure if O'Neal's passport was lost or stolen or whether the 18-year NBA veteran was facing another issue.
O'Neal played for the Raptors during the 2008-09 season. He should rejoin the Warriors prior to Tuesday's game against the Pacers in Indianapolis.
With O'Neal unavailable expect to see more of big men Marreese Speights and Hilton Armstrong backing up Andrew Bogut today as the Warriors (36-23) face the upstart Raptors (32-26) at 1 p.m. at the Air Canada Centre.
The game will be broadcast on CSN Bay Area.
