O.J. Simpson owes taxes... lots of taxes. Although he is currently serving a prison sentence, the IRS has hit him with another tax lien. On Jan. 27, TMZ reported that Simpson owes thousands of dollars in taxes -- and the IRS has now placed three tax liens on the former NFL player.
"According to a federal lien filed in December, O.J. failed to cough up $17,015.99 in taxes for the year 2011," TMZ reports. With the tax liens taken in to consideration, TMZ reports that O.J. owes over $500,000 to Uncle Sam. It is unknown where he's going to get the money to pay up, given the fact that he also owes money to other people.
O.J. Simpson's taxes aren't the least of his problems. Aside from owing the IRS money, he also owes quite a bit of cash to the families of his ex-wife's family, and the family of her friend, Ronald Goldman, after he was sued by them. There is still debate as to whether or not O.J. murdered Nicole Brown Simpson and Goldman, but many feel that their families may never receive the money that is owed to them.
According to TMZ, the IRS "filed a lien for $179,435.07 for the years 2007-2010 and the State of California says he still owes $318,566.04 for the year 2000." If Simpson fails to pay up, he could find himself hanging out behind bars longer than he had anticipated.
O.J. Simpson could pay his taxes but where he will get the money to pay the IRS, the Brown's, and the Goldman's is unknown.
