Just because you are in jail does not mean you can avoid paying your taxes. Unfortunately, O.J. Simpson is just now figuring this out by official request to pay up from the Internal Revenue Service. TMZ reported on Sunday, Jan. 27 that O.J. Simpson has had another tax lien placed on him from the Internal Revenue Service for outstanding taxes payments in 2011.
Apparently O.J. Simpson's new residence in jail has not prevented the government from going after the outstanding debt he has yet to clear up. O.J. Simpson has been slapped with his third tax lien within the last 12 months.
In order to clear up his debt owed to the government and have liens released O.J. Simpson is required to pay $17,015.99 for 2011 and $179,435.07 for 2007 through 2010 to the IRS. The State of California also has a lien in place for his outstanding taxes totaling $318,566.04 for the year 2000.
O.J. Simpson has quite a lot of outstanding debts due not only to the government, but also the family members of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman from the civil suit that took place after their double murder trial.
