The end of baseball and softball season only means one thing – golf and track practice begins!
In the meantime, it's a good time to take a quick look at how the season ended for some of Orange County's finest...
Yorba Linda (24-4) – Finished second in the Empire League. Lost in the Division 1 Semi-Finals to Santiago of Corona, who eventually won the whole enchilada.
Pacifica (27-6) – Won the Empire League. Beat a good Orange Lutheran in the Division 1 Quarterfinals. The Mariners lost in the Semi-Finals to Norco.
Mission Viejo (26-2) – South Coast League champions. Lead the Division 2 throughout the year and were favorite to go all the way. The Diablos were out by the 2nd round with a loss to Wild Card team Ayala.
Sunny Hills (21-9) – It was a long haul for the Freeway League co-champs. After mowing through teams like Burbank and La Serna, the Lancers lost in the Finals to Righetti HS.
La Habra (23-8) – A tale of two co-title winning Freeway League champs. The Lady Highlanders fell in the Division 3 Semi-Finals. Not bad for an unseeded team.
Cypress (26-8) – Empire League champions took their 2013 season to the bank and walked away with a CIF-SS Division 2 Championship.
Marina (22-9) – The Vikings flew under the radar all the way to the CIF-SS Division 1 Finals, where they met and lost to Harvard-Westlake, 1-0.
Mater Dei (24-3) – No. 1 in the Trinity League and No. 1 in Division 1, but the playoffs are a new season and the Monarchs season ended in the first round against At-Large team Huntington Beach.
