O'Brien named FSL Player of the Week

Tampa Yankee catcher Pete O'Brien was named the Florida State League "Player of the Week" (April 3rd-April 13th, 2014).

O'Brien was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 2nd Round of the 2012 MLB Draft while playing at the University of Miami. While O'Brien is a catcher he is also seen as a versatile player spending time at third base and most recently right field. In the fall of 2013, O'Brien was named as an Arizona Fall League Rising Star and also An MiLB Organization All-Star in the Yankees system.

O'Brien was promoted to the Tampa Yankees in 2013 where he played in 66 games racking up 55 RBIs, 11 homers and maintaining a .265 batting average.

So far this year, O'Brien has maintained .348 batting average in 12 games along with 3 doubles and 9 RBIs and 4 homeruns.
