Yesterday a New York Times op-ed columnist stated that the Tea Party is 'waging jihad on the American people.' On the very same day, Vice-President Joe Biden stated that Tea Partiers are like terrorists.
Why would the Vice-President of the United States and a columnist for what was once the most influential newspaper in the country use such explosive language to defame and attempt to stigmatize multi-millions of Americans who not only demonstrated their significant power in the midterm elections of 2010 but set the terms of the debate over the national debt?
This is not the first time such language has been used to smear conservatives.
Ironically, the appearance of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, D-Arizona, on the House floor last evening to cast a vote in favor of the compromise debt ceiling bill symbolizes the very problem. While all decent Americans can celebrate her dramatic recovery from a potentially lethal gunshot wound, her Democrat colleagues in Congress, the media, and Leftwing pundits used her terrible misfortune to accuse Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, the Tea Party, and the conservative movement as a whole of being co-conspirators in her assassination attempt. They claimed that the rhetoric used by conservatives was singularly responsible for the carnage caused by one deranged perpetrator.
Yet, the very ones who would accuse conservatives of 'stirring up violence through their damaging rhetoric' regularly refer to Tea Party activists and the conservative movement in general as 'terrorists,' 'jihadists,' 'dangerous subversives akin to Timothy McVeigh' and the perpetrator of the recent Norway massacre.
It certainly has not escaped the attention of astute conservatives that the progressives who regularly engage in such verbal character-assassination have conveniently forgotten that Leftwing subversives such as William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn actually bombed federal buildings and shot police officers in the 60s and 70s. Even today they are adamant that they did the right thing and would do it all over again.
And it has also apparently escaped the consciousness of progressives that these two dangerous, Leftwing homegrown terrorists helped to launch the political career of Barack Obama in their own living room in Chicago in the 1990s:
In 1995, Ayers and Dohrn hosted meetings at their Chicago home to introduce Barack Obama to their neighbors and political allies, as Obama prepared to make his first run for the Illinois state senate. Also present at the meetings were Alice Palmer and Quentin Young.
Perpetrators of deadly violence routinely accuse innocent people of engaging in the very same activity in which they themselves are involved so as to divert attention away from their horrific acts, such as German Nazis who vilified entire groups of people while they conducted a systematic plan of mass genocide right under the noses of unsuspecting citizens.
But there is a much more sinister purpose for the demonization of conservatives and Tea Party activists. The language that is being used to vilify the movement is designed to identify, stigmatize, marginalize, separate, and possibly obliterate--a course of action not only used by the Nazis but prescribed by Saul Alinksy in his Bible for progressives, 'Rules for Radicals.' William Ayers, the progressive homegrown terrorist, also advocated this course of action in his call for insurrection in 'Prairie Fire.'
If subsersive usurpers who have seized significant power in government can succeed in stigmatizing their most vocal opponents in the eyes of the public, it is much easier to marginalize them, or murder them. Victor Klemperer's monumental book in 1947 entitled, LTI - Lingua Tertii Imperii: Notizbuch eines Philologen, describes in shocking detail how the Nazis used language as propaganda to inculcate the German people into the ways and thinking of National Socialism. Klemperer, a university professor who was stripped of his position in 1935 because he was Jewish, stated the following:
And what happens if the cultivated language is made up of poisonous elements or has been made the bearer of poisons? Words can be like tiny doses of arsenic: they are swallowed unnoticed, appear to have no effect, and then after a little time the toxic reaction sets in after all.
The Third Reich coined only a very small number of the words in its language, perhaps - indeed probably - none at all. . . Blogger/reporter Mike Vanderboegh provides the following piercingly insightful commentary on the motive behind the language used by Biden, the New York Times, and a host of other progressives:
Calling your political opponents terrorists is no accident. For everyone knows what should happen to real terrorists. They should be killed. Right? The only question is, who are really the terrorists?
When the Vice President of the United States calls his peaceful political opponents terrorists, what he is saying is he would like to see them dead.
As this writer predicted back in November of 2010, the nation has now entered a most dangerous phase in its history as the leviathans are faced with the stark possibility that they will be totally ousted from power by angry citizens. Power-hungry beasts who are backed into a corner never give up willingly. Rather, they are the most dangerous when threatened.
