It was all about braids at Costella Tagliapietra for the SS2014 at Milk Studios. Lead Stylist Nelson Vercher for the Rita Hazan Salon created a simple fishtail braid with wispy face framing pieces using Rene Furterer Dry Shampoo for the "Rough Elegance " look
The fishtail braid is over and it all about simplicity. For the Costello Tagliapietra show, hairstylist Nelson Vercher created a look for an elegant woman, who wants to control her hair, but with very little fuss or effort. This season, the Costello Tagliapietra SS14 collection featured a lot of separates - sweaters, skirts, blouses etc, so the hair played a secondary character this season, so as to keep the focus on the clothes.
1) Use a dry spray to show off the dry texture, so hair looks smooth but dull - no shine this season. Nelson used the "Rene Furterer Dry Shampoo", applying it from the roots to the end, removing all oil from the hair.
2) Next, nelson mist the hair with "Avene Eau Thermale" - which is actually a facial mist, but he loves the effect it has on the hair. By adding the water, it gives the hair a natural wet look, as though you just washed your hair and let it air dry.
3) Nelson created an inverted braid, braiding underneath, leaving the ends loose and fastening with a transparent elastic. The hairline is free and fuzzy, with the intention of showing off and embracing flyaways. The idea is a textured hairline.
