The stage was set, lights dimmed, music blared and cameras flickered as the models took to the runways for Vivienne Tam Fall 2014.
The collection captured the essence of fall-- leather pieces, fur accents, and wool outerwear with a few distinct touches of Tam's own unique flair; the injection of bold color, complimented by the delicate use of fabrics, for a balancing act of feminine and fierce.
There were subtle hints of eastern entrapment as evidenced by the Buddha mural sketched top, not to mention a great mix of styles that included perforated/laser cut out dresses, full leather skirts, fur scarfs, graphic prints and brightly hued lace dresses.
Highlights for the collection include a brightly colored lace dress with sheer paneling in what can best be described as a 'fire engine red'--a color that acquires much attention, and as a result hastens one's fixation with its intricate lace detailing.
The perforated numbers are also a hit, particularly when paired with leather pieces for a complete urbane look. Also included are Tam's beautiful jumpsuits, perhaps a great display of 'high end' office wear.
The Vivienne Tam Fall 2014 collection was a posh affair. The clothes exuded effortless radiance and even when experimenting with mixed prints and luxe pieces it never over extends itself, maintaining its effortless chic cohesion throughout. www.viviennetam.com
