This September, leading women’s lifestyle brand NYDJ has partnered with Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF) in support of National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. Currently, Ovarian cancer is the leading cause of death from gynecologic cancers in the United States. Sadly, the disease is the fifth leading cause of cancer death among American women. In effort to fight the disease, OCRF, founded in 1994, is the largest and oldest charity in the United States funding ovarian cancer research.
For National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, teal is the official color of the cause – and in true philanthropic style, NYDJ will donate $10 from the sale of every pair of the Jade Legging in Dark Teal ($98) exclusively at NYDJ.com, to OCRF. On each pair of jeans, there will be a special hangtag describing the OCRF partnership reminding customers of the donation made. In addition, NYDJ and Nordstrom will encourage customers to get involved with the ‘Fit to Cure’ initiative by donating $1 to OCRF for every customer that tries on any pair of NYDJs in any Nordstrom stores nationwide, throughout the entire month of September.
In the social media sphere, NYDJ will encourage their social audience to virally pledge their support for the OCRF partnership. On facebook, NYDJ will ask fans to like and/or share this pledge with friends to show their support and encourage their friends to get involved. On Twitter, fans will be encouraged to share the same pledge image, motivating their friends to participate in the cause and join in conversations around why they support OCRF under the hashtag #NYDJ4OCRF.
In total, NYDJ’s “Fit To Cure” program will generate at least $50,000 in donations that will directly benefit OCRF.
