Wojciech Braszczok, a NYC undercover officer was arrested today in connection with the beating of Alexian Lien. The NYC police have confirmed the arrest in the Sept 29th incident. Previously, Braszczok admitted to witnessing the attack, but police now believe he was beating against the window of the SUV. Braszczok's lawyer denies this. A video has surfaced that police used to identify Wojciech Braszczok as an attacker.
SUV driver Alexian Lien, was harassed and chased by a large group of motorcycle riders, which eventually led to Lien being drug out of his SUV and being beaten badly. A motorcyclist was run over in the confusion and he is in very serious condition.
A total of five people are now charged in that crime.
Det. Brian Sessa of the NYPD's public information unit, has confirmed that Braszczok has been charged with riot and criminal mischief. What punishment Braszczok will receive from the department is not immediately known. Sessa also had no details about the arrest.
Philip Karasyk is the lawyer representing Braszczok. Telephone calls left at his office had not received a reply at the time of this writing. Karasyk has denied that his client did anything but watch. Identification of some of those involved has been hampered by the fact that many of them wore helmets and many had the same helmets on.
All told, there were three policemen riding with the group at the time of the attack. No details on the other two have been made known.
