The folks in NYC's East Village -- or those who visit it, like I did recently -- are so lucky to have Good Beer. It's a craft beer shop in an unassuming ground-level rowhome type building with a deceptively huge selection from all over the world!
They also have a small bar area in back, where you can try a couple of interesting craft beers -- including a cinnamon porter that turned out to be from Maryland's Flying Dog -- as well as local beers, along with some local snacks. For just a few dollars, you can order things like heritage cheddar-filled kielbasa with sauerkraut. The kielbasa has some chew, with natural casing. A locally made candy corn also makes for good snacking while trying a range of beers.
The bar only has a few small tables, so sometimes, it might be impossible to sit down. But if you do get a chance, it's pretty sweet! I would make this my office away from the office if I lived in the East Village, for sure.
