NYC Restaurant Week makes its return

As of yesterday, it is officially NYC Restaurant Week! Every foodie's favorite time of the year is upon us New Yorkers once again.

From July 21st through August 15th, food lovers can try some of the city's best bites from some of the city's best restaurants at a discounted rate. Both lunch ($25) and dinner ($38) three course meal specials are available Monday through Friday. Saturdays are off the table (because we all know people will pay top dollar to eat in NYC on a Saturday) and Sundays are at the restaurant's discretion.

Majority of the restaurants are located in Manhattan, however there are three restaurants in Brooklyn (Benchmark in Park Slope and The Greenhouse Cafe and Tanoreen in Bay Ridge) and one in Queens (Water's Edge Restaurant in Long Island City). If you're looking to stay in the city, don't worry. There are a TON of restaurants with a wide variety of cuisines and price points. Looking for Italian? Why not try A Voce or Maialino? Looking for something a bit more exotic? You'll find quite a few Greek, Indian, Spanish and Asian restaurants on the list as well.

Are you an American Express cardholder and thinking about trying out something on the Restaurant Week list? If you register your card on the link above and spend $25 at a participating restaurant, you can score a $5 statement credit.

There's also an Instagram contest available during Restaurant Week for those who Insta. All you have to do is take a picture of your food or yourself/friends during Restaurant Week, use the hashtag #NYCRestaurantWeek and submit the entry form that comes up. You can win $250 or more in gift cards to some of NYC's best restaurants...all for posting a picture! (We all know you'll do it anyway.) One winner in each of the 4 categories (appetizer, entrée, dessert and group shot/selfie) will be picked every week for 4 weeks.

So, go ahead and try something new in NYC over the next 4 weeks...your taste buds will love you for it.
