Time to gather your friends and take a little trip to New York City this weekend for the Progressive International Motorcycle Show! The show runs from Friday, January 20 through Sunday, January 22, at the Jacob Javits Convention Center on 34th Street. Be sure to check out the website for all the details you need (price, hours, etc.).
The show this year promises to be exciting, with Paul Jr. scheduled to present his 9/11 memorial bike and meet and greet fans on Saturday at 1:00 at the Geico booth. Other features of this year’s show, in addition to the beautiful custom bikes you will be strolling by as you walk through the Center, include the Smage Brothers Stunt Show, the Learning Curve (featuring free seminars on all aspects of motorcycling), the Dream Pavilion, Marketplace, and much more. Look for Carmella Brown, Barbara Manning (of Bikers Like Quilts Too), and yours truly at the New York Rider Magazine booth along with the crew from Rob’s Cycle Supply ! Michael Henry, of the Times Union Biker Blog , will be at the show on Friday and Albany photographer, Dino Petrocelli, will be with us on Saturday.
Of course, outside the Javits Center lies the Big Apple, which has no shortage of places to go and people/things to see, that is, IF you have enough time left after the show. Biker-friendly bars include the Iron Horse , Mustang Sally’s , and the Hudson Yards Café in Hells Kitchen.
If you decide to stay around the Capital District, check out the Boozefighters MC Halve Maen Chapter 147 First Annual Winter Party on Saturday, January 21, 12:00-6:00 PM, at the Silver Spur Saloon, 4353 Route 32 in Catskill, NY (a Boozefighters party is always a good time)! Call Boogie at 845-222-0826 for more information.
Have a great weekend and hopefully we will see you at the show!
