The International Association of Financial Engineers Presents:
Operational Risk Committee Event
Opportunities and Challenges in Hedge Fund Investing
Global market conditions characterized by elevated market volatility and diminished return prospects continue to create investment challenges. Many institutions are increasing allocations to hedge funds with the hope of mitigating risk, increasing diversification, and enhancing return prospects.
The opportunities and challenges faced by public and private pensions, endowments, foundations and other institutional investors in constructing appropriate and well considered hedge fund exposures continue to be significant.
Topics Include:
- What improvements to investment process, oversight and guideline monitoring should be implemented by institutional investors when investing in hedge funds?
- Will the rapidly changing regulatory environment (Dodd-Frank, Volker Rule, etc.) and the migration of investment talent from bank proprietary trading to the hedge fund industry create investment opportunities?
- How do institutional investors assess the operational risk of their hedge fund investments?
