NYC Department of Consumer Affairs now hiring (Video)

The Department of Consumer Affairs is the first consumer protection agency in the country. It was established in 1968, so that businesses will deal fairly to consumers on a daily basis. The Adjudication Division hears all matters concerning violations of the laws and regulations and enforces laws set forth by a landmark NYC Consumer Protection Law passed in 1969.

The Department of Consumer Affairs is looking for a qualified person to fill in a Community Associate position in their Adjudication Division. The business title is Hearing Support Associate. This position is entry level and the proposed beginning salary range is $32,321.00 to $37,169.00. Employment hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The location is 66 John Street, NY, NY.

The educational requirements are a high school diploma or equivalent and three years community service work or community centered activities. Some of the duties you will be required to do are; processing law judge decisions, updating computer systems, researching and retrieving data. The preferred skills are; ability to work well with the public, good written and oral communication skills, proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel, flexibility and to be organized and self-motivated.
