Some good news: The upstate New York teen who smacked an elderly woman “upside the head” as she exited a Rochester convenience store was arrested yesterday. Colin Flaherty filed a report on the incident. According to the Smoking Gun, the assailant, 16-year-old Devin Alexander, was busted Wednesday on a probation violation charge. While in police custody, Alexander was positively identified as the “prankster” who lay in wait for the customer to emerge.

The incident was captured on video and posted to a Facebook page titled “True Goon Tocool Sneekey.” The clip, which was publicized by Rochester blogger/activist Davy Vara, shows Alexander outside the store telling a giggling cohort that he was going to “smack the old lady with the snowball when she come out the store.”

But when the woman did exit, he instead struck her in the head with his fist, prompting the camera operator to scream “Smack cam!” five times. As the pair fled, the co-conspirator could be heard opining, “She gonna call the cops.”

Which she did. Both Alexander and the cameraman will likely face criminal charges stemming from the incident.
