From February 1 through February 6, 2014, NY NOW™, the Market for Home + Lifestyle (formerly NYIGF®), will present its newly re-organized exhibit floor and related re-branding to tens of thousands of retailers. This market will be held at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94.
Featured in this market will be 100,000 products in 400+ categories across four comprehensive product collections – HOME, LIFESTYLE, HANDMADE and NEW!. NY NOW HOME includes Home Furnishings + Textiles, Tabletop + Gourmet Housewares and Accent on Design®; LIFESTYLE showcases Baby + Child, Gift, Personal Accessories, and Personal Care + Wellness; HANDMADE separates artisans by process and provenance with Designer Maker and Global Design; and NEW! highlights market newcomers on Pier 94.
Also, at Pier 94 SustainAbility: design for a better world® will spotlight eco-friendly and socially-responsible products and producers and Made in the USA will highlight American products that are both handcrafted and commercially-produced. In addition Artisan Resource™ be at Pier 94 the 1st through the 4th. This artisan production-sourcing event connects U.S.-based volume importers, direct import retailers and wholesalers with overseas artisan enterprises from more than 20 countries offering handmade resources, at export terms from country of origin.
In addition, a five-day slate featuring over 40 seminars addressing a range of topics such as sustainability, marketing, color and design trends, importing, visual merchandising, online commerce and social media, and other retail strategies. Among the special events that will be held concurrent with the winter market include Gift For Life’s 22nd Anniversary “Party for Life” Fundraiser on Monday, February 3; the Housewares Design Awards Gala & Ceremony on Tuesday, February 4; as well as NY NOW’s popular “Night on Broadway,” featuring specially-priced tickets for the Tuesday, February 4th performance of Motown: The Musical.
Furthermore product innovators will be receive awards in several categories, including the Accent on Design® Awards and Accent on Design Bloggers’ Choice Awards; and market participants will vote online for their favorite “green” products in the Eco Choice Awards. In addition NY NOW’s Best New Product Awards also will recognize design excellence in four categories – Baby + Child, Gourmet Housewares, Home Textiles and Personal Care + Wellness – with popular voting determining overall “Best of LIFESTYLE” and “Best of HOME” Awards. Also, the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) NY Metro Chapter will present their “Best of the Best NY NOW Winter 2014 Awards” to select exhibitors in NY NOW’s HOME Collection.
