The history of the New York International Auto Show could be traced back to the year 1900, lasting for more than a century. Since 1987 and up until now it has been held annually at Javits Center, typically in the spring time, attracting millions of visitors from every corner of the world. This year the opening date for show was set to April 22nd, a bit later than usual. The show lasted for 10 days till Sunday, May 1st.
It was lovely in the City these days and the exhibition hall was well crowded. It came not as a big surprise that the luxury car section has been in the focus of public attention and produced a lot of excitement. Going beyond just the price tags with their numerics comfortably residing in 6-digits area, it’s relevant to mention that these cars represent the synergetic product of engineering genius and aesthetic sophistication amalgamated in many millions man-hour of precise and utmost-professional labor of many generations. Put in historic prospective, these type of products consolidated the best achievements of mankind in its continuous search for perfection. The convergence of art and technology lasted for more than a century eventually materialized into all those little “miracles-on-the wheels”, decorating the exhibition halls of car shows and art museum as well (e.g. the car collection at New York Museum of Modern Art, a.k.a. MoMA, which includes among others the Jaguar E-Type Roadster 1963 ).

Well, almost A La Mussorgsky… as it was said long time ago picture is worth a thousand words. This is pretty much understandable from the numeric prospective just by comparing the size of a typical text file and regular .jpg image attached to the article: the ratio could well be in that range or even bigger, exceeding that psychologically important 1000x barrier in case of taking the high-quality pictures :). Afterword
The name Rolls-Royce speaks for itself. Just a little note: this year the Spirit of Ecstasy, this nice winged woman (“Emily” or “Flying Lady”) celebrates her 100th year anniversary. Still looking good, Lady! :)
