NY Fashion Week at Nolcha Fashion Lounge

On Thursday Febuary 10th Nolcha opened its Fashion Lounge, and I had the pleasure of attending the event. At the event  I was able to meet some the most exceptional designers and receive a free beauty makeover by Paul Mitchel. I even got the opportunity to meet a NYC House Wife.

Nolcha is a platform for up coming fashion and jewelry designers to showcase and sell their work during one of Fashions Biggest Events Fashion Week in New York This year was their 9th season hosting the Lounge. While there I met some designers that you will have to be on the look out for, here are some of my Favorites:

Show Me Your MUMU-  This line and its designer touched my heart when speaking with them. Designers Cammy Hebert and Cologne Schmidt collaborated with Daleela Farina and Alexa Caesar. They developed a line of totes and a wonderful shirts made with African Fabric. All production of there items  are  done in Kenya providing paying jobs for the women there.  They are contributing a large sum of the proceeds they make made back into Kenya to help these women who are making these beautiful items. There Totes and Shirts are available online at www.showmeyourmumu.com. When you Support them you are helping employ the women of Kenya.

Courtesan Studio- I was in love at first sight when I saw these young ladies work. Each item is hand sewn and embellished with Swarovski crystals, pearls and semi precious stones. These accessories are guaranteed to make heads turn and be memorable. This line allows women to look good without sticking to the norms of Gold and Silver. Check out Courtesan Studio Website at www.courtesanstudio.com.

Alberto Parada- Alberto Parada fine jewelry is exceptional and I believe that when you see it you will want to own a piece. His designs and choice of materials makes his pieces the beauty they are.  Designer Alberto Parada kept some of the traditional designs but he also went outside the box making art with his jewelry and I am impressed. He also has taking the needed measure to Go Green. For that alone you should check out his work.  www.albertoparada.com.

PITUSA- Their poodle hat as I call it was the most memorable of the lounge. Designer Clara Lago designed a fur hat made from alpaca and it is the softest warmest hat ever. With fabrics from Peru she is providing top quality and comfortable clothes. Pit USA is delivering the message of PEACE with each article of clothing by incorporating the word "PEACE" on each article of clothing in Hebrew and Arabic. In addition to the hat and clothing they also offer hand made PitUSA inca head bands in vibrant colors.  Want to know more and see the designs visit www.pitusa.co.uk.

Helicopter- Designer Helga Lilja Magnúsdóttir's designs are eye catching. Helicopter is a high street fashion label from Reykjavík, Iceland. Helga has infused sheer in her leggings and evening wear. Helga has taken the normal everyday wear and added an edgier sexier appearance making it irresistible. Her designs are unique and are sure to be a hit. Helicopter is a new brand is aiming to taking the fashion industry by storm. Her designs and passion for Fashion makes her label a Must have.  There were many other designers there who I am looking forward to learning more about in the upcoming months but to see a full list of designers and learn more about them visit Nolcha website at www.nolcha.com/nolcha-fashion-week
