More than a dozen reality stars will hit the runway during 2013 New York Fashion Week next month -- including "Jersey Shore" star Deena Cortese. A rep for the MTV reality confirms to Examiner.com today (Monday), Deena will walk in the Reality on the Runway show on Saturday, Feb. 9. "Deena enjoys helping charities and others in anyway she can, so an opportunity like this she couldn't pass up," her rep says of her involvement in the fashion show that will raise money for AIDS research.
The Reality of FASHION The Reality of AIDS show not only gives Deena an opportunity to help the cause, but she'll also gain valuable experience in the fashion world as she prepares to launch her own clothing line, Shore Couture, this summer. "Walking in the fashion show is a great way for her to get a taste of the fashion world and be apart of New York Fashion Week," the reality star's rep tell us.
Along with Deena, NYFW 2013's Reality on the Runway show has landed some big names including Lil Kim, "Bachelor" winner Courtney Robertson, Alex McCord star of "The Real Housewives of New York" and "Couples Therapy" and Ramona Rizzo of "Mob Wives." This year, the reality stars will wear pieces from Dominique Auxilly's new collection. The rising design star is "known to pull inspiration from all aspects of life her pieces most often reflect her love for old Hollywood, her obsession with architectural structures and her Jamaican roots," according to the official website for Reality on the Runway.
Following the runway show, pieces worn by the reality stars will be auctioned off online with a large portion of the proceeds being donated to the 2013 AIDS Charity of Choice.
The Reality of Fashion and the Reality of AIDS fashion show will take place Saturday, Feb. 9. from 7:30 - 10 p.m. at the Altman Building, 135 West 18th Street New York, NY 10018. Click here to purchase tickets.
