"Hack away. It's not the daily increase but the daily decrease." Bruce Lee
"Let go of all you are not." Nisargadatta Maharaj
"The best thing about Mercury Retrograde is that it ends." Melinda Gallo
Alright, drum roll please.
We all know that within this galaxy of impermanance all things, no matter how wonderful or torturous, must eventually exhaust themselves. And so tomorrow the Mercury Retrograde to end all Mercury Retrogrades will right itself and complete (and not a nanosecond too soon for many-- like every Cancer, Libra and Capricorn who has been squared and opposed to death by this).
Tomorrow, Saturday, April 23, at 3:04 AM PDT here. Coming to you, everywhere on this beautiful, beleaguered planet, the blockbuster feature we've all been waiting for: Mercury goes direct.
I'm considering setting my alarm to light a candle in gratitude.
So if you're still around, kicking and blessing and cursing and breathing and laughing, get ready.
Open to a little more ease and grace, take a few breaths, and align with the Divine. Many plans and projects that simply could not fly in that turbulent weather will take wing now.
Especially if you move into a receptive, positive and supremely, ridiculously open state of mind.
I have two more pieces of advice for this transitional week coming up.
Clean out your space. Try not to start this spanking new cycle with your place a cluttered mess. (This includes your car, your wallet, your backpack, whatever you can.) Honor the incipient cycle by releasing anything you no longer need, use or love. If you let go of what's been weighing you down, you'll be that much more receptive to the new energy. Catherine Ponder calls this "creating a vacuum", dropping what you don't need so what you do can arrive.
Drop any resentments, anger and old toxic emotions that you can. This has been a really fiery and emotional three weeks. If a lot of old energy came up, do whatever you can to drop it, including any blame towards yourself. You don't need it polluting the new cycle.
Especially with all the current Aries energy, physical workouts of any kind are helpful. I've been bicycling up a storm all over the East Bay hills just to release the intensity.
Prayer helps too.
A good one for now is something like,
"Let me forgive anyone and anything that I resent or blame. Let me release them for my own good and the good of all. Only the highest can now manifest in my life. The Divine Will guides my way; all my needs are always met. I am one with the power of Love. I am Love."
(Or whatever you're drawn to say. I always laugh when people give autocratic prayer instructions like, This is How You Must Do It. Are you kidding? To the most intimate Lord of your very own heart, closer than your own pulse?)
In the meantime, have fun. It will get better.
I mean, at least now your toaster probably won't catch fire next time you simply make a onion bagel while your cat vomits hairballs on your stack of laundry fresh from the dryer.
Probably.
(By the way, if you haven't read Part 1 and Part 2 of this series you might want to catch up. It'll all make more sense.)
