We all have a recipe for a snack mix involving Chex cereal. Here's one with a different take that includes BBQ sauce. The folks at the legendary Sonny Bryan's BBQ in Dallas came up with this and the spicy taste is just right and it's easy to make for road trips or a pool party. You can use any ketchup-based BBQ sauce.
Sonny Bryan's Nuts & Bolts
3 cups each of corn rice, and wheat Chex cereal
2 cups pretzel chips or small sticks
2 cups of pecan halves
1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter
3 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp. garlic salt
2 Tbsp. onion salt
1/2 cup Sonny Bryan's BBQ sauce
1 Tbsp. cayenne pepper
Preheat oven to 250. Mix cereal, nuts, pretzels in a large bowl.
In a separate bowl, melt butter and add remaining ingredients. Whisk until blended.
Combine the 2 bowls and mix well.
Spread mix on cookie sheet and place in oven for one hour and 15 minutes. Mix every 20 minutes to blend seasoning well.
Let cool and store in an airtight container.
