Nutella S'mores recipe: Celebrate National S'mores Day

Nutella S'mores

Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, campers and kids  will love these s'mores made with Nutella Chocolate Hazelnut Spread, honey graham crackers and toasted marshmallows.

Did the Girl Scouts Invent S'mores?

The GirlScout.org website asks, "Did you know that today (August 10th) is National S'mores Day? Did you also know that Girl Scouts is credited with inventing the recipe? In fact, the original S'mores campfire delicacy was first introduced to the world 80 years ago in the 1927 Girl Scout Handbook."

Nutella S'mores Recipe (for each S'more)

  • 2 honey graham cracker squares
  • 2 Tablespoons Nutella Hazelnut Spread
  • 1 large marshmallow, toasted

How to Make S'mores

  • Spread 1 Tablespoon Nutella on each graham cracker half, and place on a plate, Nutella side up.
  • Skewer the marshmallow on a long stick, and toast slowly over hot coals or open fire until the marshmallow is golden brown and starts to blister and bubble. Some people like to go a little further and burn the outside of the marshmallow slightly, after which they peel off the crispy, blackened crust and use the melted marshmallow on the inside.
  • Immediately, remove the marshmallow from the skewer and place on one side of the graham cracker spread with Nutella. Place the second Nutella graham cracker over the top and press down lightly. The heat of the toasted marshmallow will melt the Nutella.
  • Let cool for a minute or two as these S'mores will be very hot!
  • Makes 1 S'more, but you'll need more!

Here's a cute "recipe" for S'mores!

So funny! I think three companies (at least) make gluten-free graham crackers so we can have S'mores now too!

Yum! I made Nutella Smores for World Nutella Day. They were excellent. Made homemade chocolate graham crackers, too.

Pair this with Rogue Hazelnut Brown. It's a sweet, rich, nutty beer. Total decadence in beer form, to fit Donna's latest decadent treat!

May I use your "cute recipe" for S'mores? I love it! I have a book coming up called LOVE AND POLLYWOGS FROM CAMP CALAMITY/Random House in June. I'd love to use this funny recipe on my book launch postcards. Thanks for your reply!
