Nurse gives birth at near full-term and never knew she was pregnant

An Arizona nurse gave birth to a healthy baby girl totally unaware of her pregnant state.

According to the Feb. 1, Dailymail, Janae Colvard, a 30 year old mother of two was admitted to Banner Gateway Medical Center's emergency room last week, with what she believed was kidney stones.

Not only did nurse Colvard think it was kidney stones, the ER nurse thought so too and placed Colvard in a wheelchair until the doctor could come check her out.

Colvard stood up and thinking she had an “accident” reached down between her legs only to feel a baby’s head. “As soon as I reached my hand down there, I felt a head. And that's when I realised I was having a baby,” Colvard told reporters.

The baby’s father, Brian Ojinaga, also 30, was dumbfounded. Ojinaga, a longtime friend of Colvard said it had been more than seven months since they had seen each other.

When Colvard gave birth to her third child, doctors believe she was at 36 weeks- almost full-term.

How could she not know?
