Barack Hussein Obama's (not voted on by Congress) choice of Dr. Donald Berwick as administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has some rather interesting views on both health care and economics.
And even more interesting, is the ringing endorsement of an alleged Catholic nun.
In an article published by the Catholic News Agency, Sr. Carol Keehan, president and chief executive officer of the of the Catholic Health Association (CHA) has applauded President Obama's recess appointment of Harvard pediatrician Dr. Donald Berwick as administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
She called Berwick "well qualified" for the position, describing him as "a visionary with great insight and knowledge of the health care delivery system based on his perspectives as a physician and teacher" who has championed high quality health care for decades.
Keehan also made headlines recently when she publicly supported Barack Hussein Obama's pro-abortion nationalized health care scheme.
And The Rest Of The Story On Berwick
In a July, 2008 interview with the British National Health Service, Berwick was quoted as saying, ".... any health care funding plan that is just, equitable, civilized, and humane must - must - redistribute wealth from the richer among us to the poorer and less fortunate."
In the June 2009 edition of Biotechnology Healthcare, Berwick stated, "The decision is not whether or not we will ration care - the decision is whether we will ration with our eyes open. And right now, we are doing it blindly."
And in a report published by LifeNews.com, (Emphasis mine) "The U.K. is ramping up healthcare rationing under its National Health Service (NHS). According to The Sunday Telegraph, the NHS has drawn up plans for restrictions on the most basic treatments for the sick and injured. Operations including hip and knee replacements and cataract surgery will be rationed in a new attempt to save money.
According to the report, plans also include cuts for terminally ill patients (dying cancer patients will supposedly be sent home and told to manage their own symptoms), closure of nursing homes for the elderly, cost-cutting measures in pediatric and maternity services and care of the elderly.
Doctors have already been told that their patients can have some operations only if they are given "prior approval" by a "primary care trust", with each authorization made on a "case by case" basis."
"Case by case basis" sounds an awful lot like the death panels certain American conservatives were vilified for even mentioning.
In regards to the British Socialized Health Care Service, Berwick has also stated (Emphasis mine) "I am romantic about the NHS; I love it. All I need to do to rediscover the romance is to look at health care in my own country." As well as, "The National Health Service is one of the truly astounding human endeavors of modern times."

"Sister" Carol Keehan's support of Obama's "health" care scheme made it appear that the Church itself was in favor of it and its pro-Abortion inclusions. Hard to get behind anyone that she'd support.
What's next, Kevorkian as head of the Social Security Administration?
