Whether they consciously do it or not, social nudists typically separate themselves into two categories: weekend warriors and full time. Whether due to family obligations, workloads, or just a need to segregate their lifestyles, neither choice is wrong. Nudism is a preference that is as personalized as anything else in our lives.
Sometimes we find ourselves in a situation where we live with family members that don’t practice nudism. It’s not politically correct-or legal-to go around flashing folks (even if they are family members!) so it’s best to hang out someplace else, if you feel the need to be nude.
Also, parents that are new to the nudism lifestyle might feel awkward being nude around their older children if they haven’t done so in the past. This is where nudist parks and resorts offer a respite and how weekend warriors are born.
Most states have plenty of nudist parks to pick from and are usually close enough to visit for just a day; or longer, for a well deserved mini weekend nakation. Make sure to call ahead to find out about memberships dues, hours of operation, and rules. Usually it’s a lot cheaper to become a member, then to pay daily fees repeatedly.
It’s also a good idea to pack a pool bag, a cooler of your favorite frosty beverages, lots of sunscreen and a good book to read. But don’t get your hopes up on reading it! There is a good chance that you will end up talking the day away with all your new friends, while soaking up the sunshine poolside.
Or better yet, some locations offer small weekend bungalows for purchase at very reasonable prices. This could be your vacation home-away-from-home and also keeps you from lugging all those towels and personal items every time you visit.
Either way, weekend warriors are a fact of life for nudist communities all over the world. Whether you have a secret hideaway or just a poolside lounge chair with your name on it, there are ways to apply social nudity into your life.
