On Wednesday, the NTSB released new footage of the Asiana Airlines crash at San Francisco airport. The accident happened on July 6, when the plane crash landed on the runway. According to yahoo.com, the video was taken from the airport security camera
This new footage was released during a hearing on Dec. 11. Two young passengers died at the scene of the accident.
As you see from the video, there’s a plane on a runway when Asiana Airlines flight 214 comes in for a crash landing. The plane comes from right to left. After skidding on the runway, the planes flips into the air before stopping.
The video shows just how destructive the impact really is. The Plane skids along the runway for quite awhile, before cartwheeling in the air. In real time it looks like the Asiana Airline flight does a back flip.
It's an amazing occurrence to see how flight 214 actually went down. It's even more amazing that more passengers weren't killed during the fateful landing.
Here’s an excerpt from the story via Examiner.com after the accident. “From the post crash photos, you can see where the passengers escaped the wreckage. Including crew members, there were 307 people on board the plane.
It's truly amazing that there weren't many more fatalities at the impact of the crash. Survivors were rescued from the water and stuck in the seats. Thanks to the crew and rescuers, many of the passengers escaped the plane before it caught fire. The images display a large debris field.”
