*NSYNC fans were thrilled to hear of a reunion tour this morning. The news was posted on Ryan Seacrest's website on April 1. The article credited a tweet from the group's official account.

“Do you want us back??? Get ready for more of that dirty pop in 2015!!!!!”

The buzz spread quickly, especially after group members, including Lance Bass, retweeted the article.

Along with Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC ushered in the boy band craze in the 90s. They have been split up for 12 years. The group reunited at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards as part of Justin Timberlake's performance.

While Timberlake is the most famous of the group's members, fans were thrilled to see him reunited with JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass, and Chris Kirkpatrick. Rumors of a reunion tour started immediately.

Fans were overjoyed to learn their hopes were coming true. Unfortunately, many missed the italics at the bottom of the page. It was just an April Fools Day joke. The group is not getting back together. Lance Bass enlisted Ryan Seacrest to pull an epic prank.

Barbara Case said,

" I seriously started hyperventilating and freaking out at my desk about the news of *NSYNC reuniting for a reunion tour and was about to make screaming phone calls. Then it all came crashing down when a friend tweeted that it was an April Fools' joke. I am devastated. For one brief moment, my inner 90's fangirl was on Cloud 9."
