An NSYNC reunion has been rumored for over a week and with the MTV VMAs just hours away, fans are still left wondering whether or not the 90's boy band is going to perform during the show. On Aug. 24, MSN News reported that the performance is still on despite some recent denials from band members. Most recently, Joey Fatone said that he would not be attending the show despite what everyone keeps yapping about.
"Why the hell would I attend? I mean, for Justin obviously, he's getting the Vanguard Award, which is cool. We heard about that, and that's when the rumors started flying about doing all this stuff... but I haven't gotten a phone call or anything," he said.
The NSYNC reunion is supposed to happen after Justin Timberlake accepts the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award but no one has really confirmed the rumors. When asked, Lance Bass said that the rumors just started because the guys were seen together in Florida... while he didn't deny the rumors, he sort of played them down and acted like the performance wasn't going to happen. So what gives?
It certainly seems like the guys want to "surprise" their fans and they don't want to let on what they really have in store. While this really should be about Timberlake's honor, fans are so focused on a possible reunion and they will all be disappointed if it doesn't happen.
Catch the NSYNC reunion (or lack thereof) tonight on the MTV VMAs beginning at 9 p.m. EST.
