The NRA is calling President Barack Obama an elitist hypocrite in a new video. It's apparently another response from the NRA in the debate on gun control, with the National Rifle Association bringing the presidents daughters into the equation. According to CNN on Wednesday (Jan. 16), the new TV ad was released on Tuesday (Jan. 15).
The gun control debate is certainly getting chippy on both sides of the aisle and this 30 second advertisement seems to take the bickering to a new level. A narrator on the video states, "Are the president's kids more important than yours? Then why is he skeptical about putting armed security in our schools when his kids are protected by armed guards at their school?"
It goes on to call him an elitist hypocrite, superimposing images of the president peering over a pile of money. Thus begins another debate about whether the NRA crossed the line by paying for an advertisement that brings the children of the president into the conversation. Some people are calling it fair game while others are saying that the NRA has crossed the line.
Moving forward, it appears very clear that the two sides of this issue are very far apart and that this video might not help get everyone on the same page of the conversation.
