NPS seeks input on national historic and natural landmarks

The National Park System Advisory Board has scheduled a two-day meeting for Thursday, Oct. 23 and Friday, Oc. 24, 2014. The meeting will take place in Grand Canyon, Arizona. The National Park Service (NPS) announced the meeting in the Federal Register of Friday, Aug. 22, 2014. The public is welcome to attend the meeting and speak about a place’s national significance. But anyone interested in attending is asked to notify the board in advance

The board plans to review proposed plans ad will review proposed actions regarding the National Historic Landmarks (NHL) Program and the National Natural Landmarks (NNL) Program. People are invited to send comments and suggestions in advance for the board to consider. You can send comments up until Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014.

The meeting takes place at the Horace M. Albright Training Center, 1 Albright Ave., Grand Canyon, Arizona 86023, (928) 638-7981.

On the 23rd, the board convenes at 8:15 a.m. MT It adjourns at 11:50 a.m. Members will tour the Grand Canyon in the afternoon. On the 24th, the board resumes its meeting at 9 a.m. MT and plans to adjourn at 3:30 p.m. NPS officials will address the board.
