Nozomi Entertainment acquires ‘Space Adventure Cobra’

The Nozomi Entertainment branch of Right Stuf, Inc. has today announced that they have acquired the sci-fi anime classic, “Space Adventure Cobra: The Original TV Series” for release in North America later this year.

“Space Adventure Cobra” is a TMS Entertainment produced (Kamisama Kiss), Osamu Dezaki (Golgo 13: The Professional) directed, 31-episode science fiction series that is based on the best-selling manga from Buichi Terasawa. The anime originally aired on Japanese television from Oct. 1982 through May 1983.

The series follows the adventure of one man, who alongside his android companion act as the only thing protecting the human race from a powerful criminal organization of space pirates.

Nozomi Entertainment didn’t give an official release date for “Space Adventure Cobra”, but anime fans can expect to see the series release in North America in late 2013.

The publisher is also accepting questions from fans for a Q&A session with “Cobra” creator Buichi Terasawa through the official page. Fans can submit their questions until 4pm CT on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013.
