eBay is changing the amount of time you can view a completed listing. eBay also calls that amount of time the “look back window”. If you have ever wanted to research the selling history of a particular item in the past, you were limited to viewing that information for up to 15 days after the listing ended in some categories. That is now changing.
In some categories, eBay will now allow ended listings to be viewed for up to 60 days. Those categories are:
- Art
- Antiques
- Coins and Paper Money
- Dolls and Bears
- Entertainment Memorabilia
- Sports Memorabilia
- Stamps
- Toys
In October 2011, eBay initiated this change in the Collectibles category. With that group of items, the listings are viewable for 90 days for items that have sold and for 45 days for items that have not.
The change brings about the ability to price the items you wish to sell more accurately. If you have an item that is rare, the extended amount of time to search for another listing could be very beneficial. In either case the longer the amount of time you can search, the more listings you can use when researching the pricing of an item.
