On Monday, during a gubernatorial debate between current Maryland Democratic Gov. Martin O'Malley and former Republican Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr., the subject of illegal immigration arose and Gov. O’Malley used a term that surprised even this jaded observer.
When referring to the millions of illegal aliens now residing in the United States, O’Malley called them “new Americans.”
Apparently, for the open borders Democrat, anyone whose first act in this country is to violate the law and disrespect our sovereignty, deserves the same status as someone who faithfully observes our immigration laws by waiting years to come here legally, and longer still for the honor of taking the oath of citizenship.
Of course, under O’Malley’s leadership, the entire state of Maryland has basically become a safe haven for illegal aliens and violent drug gangs.
In 2009, the Northern Virginia Regional Gang Task Force released a report which claimed that due to tougher laws and a concerted effort by law enforcement, many illegal alien gangs are leaving Virginia for the safe havens of Maryland.
The report said: "Many gang members from Northern Virginia are moving or driving to Prince George's and other Maryland counties, into the District of Columbia or further south and west into Virginia to avoid dealing with police departments that are unrelenting in their efforts to keep gangs under control.”
The report also found that there are 5,000 gang members in Northern Va., including 3,000 MS-13 members. Because of more cooperation between local and federal agencies, violent crime in the region has decreased by 17 percent from 2003-2008.
However, as a direct result of Maryland’s continued lax attitude toward illegal immigration, the state’s sanctuary cities, and lack of cooperation with federal authorities, violent crimes committed by illegal aliens have recently soared.
Maryland is also one of a handful of states which issues driver’s licenses to illegal aliens. Additionally, the Maryland State Board of Education recently announced that they will not allow county school districts to count the number of illegal alien students registered in their respective districts.
Several high profile murders committed by illegal aliens in Montgomery County, MD forced city officials to change their policy in reporting criminal aliens to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
However, as Judicial Watch recently explained, Montgomery County police only report illegal aliens to the feds when they have been arrested for a very serious crime such as rape or murder.
Illegal aliens arrested for burglary, simple assault, and most weapons violations are still not reported to ICE for deportation. Just as with any offender, bail is set for them and they are released back onto the streets to either commit more crimes in the county or to flee elsewhere.
Gov. O’Malley is a big fan of granting amnesty to illegal aliens.

I had always been against hiring halls for illegal day labors but now I am thinking it may not be such a bad idea since American citizens should have a dry place to wait for the foreign nationals to pick them up for a days work.
In Chicago (Little Mexico) they have been calling them that for eight years now, No surprise here.
OK, lets take a look at an American. I'm a woman, a widow and a small business owner, and I have a mortgage. So, let's look into the life of an American.
1. I am required to have fire (home) insurance or the bank will assign me to high risk and if I don't or can't pay it, they will foreclose on my home.
2. I carry health insurance so I am not a burden on my fellow Americans. Now Obama tells me I have no choice in this manner. And one month after Obama care passed, my insurance company raised my premium by 120.00 even though I have only once in my lifetime been in an emergency room for a severe cold while I was traveling, which by the way cost me 4k out of pocket.
3. I have to pay my utilities or they will be shut off.
4. I have to pay my rent on my businesses or they will give me an eviction notice and take me to court for past due rents.
5. I have to have car insurance in order to drive my car legally. If caught driving without a license, I am subject to fees, fines and if I have caused an accident, likely jail time.
6. I have to estimate my federal and state taxes and send them to the government on a quarterly basis. If I misjudge my future earnings, I will (and am currently in the process) of being fined for not looking into the future more accurately.
7. I am required to give the government approximtely 25-27% of my income so they can redistribute the wealth as they please. If I don't pay my taxes I can be imprisoned.
8. I have to pay for my own food or I will starve.
9. I have the carry liability insurance to protect myself from the crazies out there who look to sue and even if the allegation is without merit, I would have to hire a lawyer to defend me, at my own cost. There is no cap on frivilious lawsuits in America.
10. When I go to an airport, I am subject to id verification, pat down search if selected or suspected to be of harm to others for any reason.
11. When on an airplane I am restricted to what I can or cannot say, even jokingly about guns, kinives, any religious opinolns and I am expected to act in accordance with behavior that is consistent with airlines behavior etiquette or face consequences, including jail time.
12. Although not a law, the law of common sense would dictate that I would only have as many children as I can afford to raise and educate.
13. I'm told when I can water my lawn or face absorbant water rates as punishment.
14. PG&E installed a meter on my home called the "Smart Meter" so they have an accounting at all times of how I personally spend engery.
15. California is talking about outlawing "black" cars (which I have) because they absorb too much energy and cause people to use their car airconditioners too much and polute.
I personally do not see any similiarities between an American, and what is expected of an American and illegals who live off Americans. So either I am no longer an American and am singled out to care for others without the benefit of taking them off on my taxes as depdendents, or they are not the "new" Americans.

Forgive me I left some all American business requirements out of my list.
In order to run my business:
1. I have to have a business license which must be renewed annually.
2. I am subject to annual health department inspections.
3. I pay for annual "permits" to operate my business.
4. I pay $45.00 a year for an annual fire inspected and am fined if found to be non compliant in any manner that would (or could) result in a fire.
5. I pay something called a "Business Property Tax" which requires an annual inventory of all my business furniture and products sent to the government. They in turn, send me a bill to tax me on property I have already paid taxes on and there is no limit on the time invovled. I'm still paying Business Property Taxes on furniture I have had for 15 years.
6. I must respond to a newly organized government agency who has sent letters to inform me they will be "dropping" by to ensure that I am paying the appropriate taxes on any goods that I sell in the course of my business activities and that I don't need any "special" license to sell any special products the government requires of me - in other words, more unscheduled audits by government representatives.
7. In order to avoid the hours/weeks invovled with dealing with government forms, inquiries and letters, it just made sense to have an Accountant to keep out of harms way.
I guess that's it other than optional life insurance since it is the only non taxable (so far but Obama is just getting started) way of leaving my childrren what I have acquired in life. When I die the Government will take their unfair portion of my earthly goods.
I still do not see any resemblence between what my government expects of me without severe consequences, and what they expect of people who have stolen into the night and become the automatic "new American."
An oh for those of you who might have some empathy for me and other Americans, I've had my identity stolen twice which required lengtly chats with my bank's fraud department, a fight for my own money that was removed from my account fraudlently, the need to shut down the account and reestablish my banking identity with all of my creditors. Meanwhile the purpetrators are not bothered by anyone. It's just not cost effctive. Off they go to ruin someone else's credit and life.

He had to have a Sponsor, continuing source of Income and be CONTRIBUTORY to the country.
